The 007 Cigar Selection
The infamous James Bond needs an infamous cigar selection. The 007 Cigar selection includes some the most versatile cigars that are great for many occassions. Cubans and non-Cubans, full bodied cigars and mild smokes, even long smokes and short smokes. All the following cigars have a license to thrill.
In The World is not Enough (1999) Bond finally gets the chance to enjoy a cigar, in the pre-title scene, when he is offered a Romeo Y Julieta Churchill in the Swiss bank in Bilbao. But in the end, he doesn’t seem to have time to even light it. The fact that the Swiss banker, who smokes a Churchill as well, holds on to it, even after falling on the ground and held at gunpoint, shows how good these cigars really are.
Cohiba Robusto Cigar -The Cohiba Robusto cigar has become one of the most highly demanded Cuban cigars on the market. Not simply a thick cigar, which is one of the problems which comes when defining a Robusto, the Cohiba is complex and full. Flavours of wood and spice flow through the mixed layers of smoke, a magnificient smoke! This cigar, like all Cohibas, was cultivated in Cuba’s finest fields and hand-rolled by master craftsmen in the famous El Liguito factory.
Montecristo Churchill Anejados – The Montecristo Churchill Anejados is the second release from the new Anejados series. Each cigar has been aged for a minimum of 5 years in Cuba before being exported to Havana specialists across the world. This is the concept behind the Anejados or ‘aged’ program. Allowing the cigars time to mature before they are smoked affords a mellower taste with the flavours melding together into a complex masterpiece. The Churchill size makes for a long smoke that is not too powerful nor too harsh.
The Partagas Presidente Cigar is exclusive in the UK to Havana House. A few summers ago, the team at Havana House took a trip to Cuba for a ‘training exercise’. In the brightly coloured streets of Havana we found a hidden gem of a cigar that called itself the Presidente. The tobacco leaves had been rolled in the classic format that is tapered at both ends. This vitola has fallen out of favour due to the more sucessful vector-straight styles of cigar that are most common today, however the format offers a remarkable draw.
