Elie Bleu Natural Wood 75 Cigar Humidor
The 75 cigar capacity humidors of the Elie Bleu Natural Wood line are crafted from timeless and rare veneers sourced from all over the world in the most remote places. Not any wood can be used to create a reliable and functional cigar box. A number of characteristics are required of the timber.
Zebrano – is also known as Zebrawood, for the streaks along the heartwood that vaguely resemble a zebra’s stripes. The grain has a coarse texture and open pores (great for allowing cigars to breathe). The wood crafts well, however can be difficult to smooth over neatly due to the interlocking grains.
Macassar Ebony (Carbon Fibre finish) – Macassar is one of the world’s densest woods, which provides fantastic protection for the cigars inside. Often used because of the dynamic stiped appearance and natural luster. Macassar is most commonly used for crafted small, specialty instruments. The artisans at Elie Bleu have finished the Ebony humidor with Carbon Fibre.
Santos Rosewood – This Indian hardwood is often used in furnature and flooring due to its striking sheen and remarkable durability. Rosewood is one of the only woods that Elie Bleu use which is pouros in nature so try not to spill anything on your humidor!
Cuban Mahogany – Mahogany is one of the great hardwoods. For years, the timber has been used for furniture and boatbuilding. Remarkably, termites and other insects tend to avoid this wood! Furthermore, Mahogany has no odor so will not distort the aroma of your cigars.
