Rocky Patel’s tour of Europe and our pick of his finest cigars

Rocky Patel Cigars is a name that is associated with the higher echelons of the cigar industry, due to its unrivalled persistence and quest for the ultimate perfect cigar. Having rode through the industry’s dip in 2000 the brand went on to succeed in a way other boutique cigar manufacturers could only dream of.

The man himself, Rocky Patel, last week completed a European tour where he talked shop on all things cigar, such as how it all started, his favourite cigars, Q and As from fans and much more.

Starting at the end of June he visited seven events in five countries where he was accompanied by Kolja Kukuk, Director of Marketing & Sales Europe at Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, Inc.

Unfortunately there were no events in the UK, but matter not, here at Havana House we stock a fantastic range of Rocky Patel cigars that you can buy in store or online, and below you will find some of our personal favourites.

Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Petit Corona

RP1

Whilst not known for making fantastic petit coronas, Rocky Patel are known for the master blending of their Vintage 1990 series.

This cigar is full bodied and complex, with nutty and caramel notes that balance each other perfectly. The cigar uses a 12 year matured Honduran Broadleaf wrapper that whilst decreased in strength over the years has only improved the complex flavours.

Rocky Patel Platinum Toro

RP2

This Platinum Toro embodies all that Rocky Patel is about; the Toro-sized cigar lives up to the complexity that the brand is famous for. The cigar is dark and oily with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that starts the smoke well before developing in flavour.

Rocky Patel Decade Series – Torpedo

RP3

They have blended some of the finest tobaccos in the world before binding them together in a dark Sumatra wrapper creating a cigar that has achieved 95/100 by officials.

Boasting an excellent draw that results in a variety of notes, the cigar offers deep rich tobacco flavours followed by notes of espresso, dark chocolate and sweet spice, rounded off with flavours of white pepper.
