Wire Works Necessary English Single Malt Whisky Evil Finish 2025 Release (70cl / 51.3%)

This small-batch release enhances Wire Works’ lightly peated character with deep layers of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and dried fruit drawn from maturation in imperial stout casks. The Necessary Evil Finish combines single malt initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Thornbridge Brewery’s ‘Necessary Evil’ imperial stout casks, which previously held PX sherry for added richness. The whisky delivers sweet and savoury aromas of hazelnuts, light roast coffee, and roasted malt. The palate brings cacao nibs, dates, prunes, and marmalade, leading to a sweet, malty, subtly smoky finish that captures a bold, flavour-forward Derbyshire collaboration.
