Davidoff releases new Nicaragua Box Pressed Toro

Davidoff Cigars have revealed an exciting new addition to their already exquisite line, with the addition of the new Nicaragua Box Pressed Toro.

Back in 2013 they released the Davidoff Nicaragua and for those thinking they have just put a boxed press spin on an existing cigar should think again. As well as boasting a new shape, Davidoff have also changed the blend.

The Nicaraguan rosado wrapper has been replaced by a Nicaraguan oscuro wrapper. The filler blend has also undergone an overhaul, which now has an additional leaf of ligero to add more strength, pepper and punch to the tasting profile, which is now made up of tobaccos from the Condega, Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe regions of the country.

The new box pressed toro is being released in two sizes as opposed to three; A Toro (6 x 52, £12.90) and Robusto (5 x 48, £10.90) with the Petit Corona being excluded for this version. The names are the same as the original Davidoff Nicaragua line, but the sizes are different. The original round Toro measured 5 1/2 x 54 and the original Robusto measured in at 5 x 50.

Remarkably this is the first time the company has released a box pressed cigar that bears the Davidoff name, with us here at Havana House finding that quite astounding considering the company’s pedigree, history and portfolio.
