Who are PDR Cigars?
PDR was founded by cigar salesman and master blender Abe Flores in the late 2000s, initially as a side hustle alongside the brand Pinar del Rio. However, its fast success and growth caused it to become Flores’ main focus, swallowing the brand from which it got its name.
Born in the US but raised in the Dominican Republic, Flores cited the legendary Jochy Blanco as a mentor and someone who helped him grow PDR. With extensive connections and tobacco knowledge, Flores has created a range of excellent cigars at incredible prices, which quickly became popular worldwide.
PDR’s factory also produces cigars for other popular brands, including big names such as Gurkha. This eye for construction goes into all of PDR’s cigars, which is a big selling point of these smokes.
All of the PDR range is handmade using an old Cuban method called entubado, a technique that involves bunching the filler leaves, as well as the Cuban triple cap on the head. By going the extra mile on construction, PDR has earned a reputation for great quality control, promising a good smoking experience every time.
