Who are CAO Cigars?
CAO was founded in 1993 by Cano Aret Ozgener, who previously worked in the smoking pipes business before moving into cigars. The company’s name comes from the founder’s initials.
Ever since its early years, CAO has been known for their creativity and innovation. The spirit of adventure was apparent in their globetrotting early range, and they have also marketed flavoured cigars and many limited edition lines.
While CAO is one of the most prolific cigar manufacturers around, they have kept in touch with the premium luxury of cigars. Many of their smokes are lauded for their complex bodies and unique tasting profiles.
CAO Amazon Basin Cigar
One of the most popular CAO luxury cigars with our customers is the Amazon Basin, one of the world’s first cigars to use tobacco grown in the Amazon. The Amazonian Bragança tobacco is blended with Colombian and Dominican fillers, a Nicaraguan binder and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.
The result is an earthy, medium-to-full cigar with high floral and peppery notes. It also has one of the most popular and eye-catching bands on the market, made from twisted tobacco to complete the rustic look.

CAO Pilon Cigar
Another hugely popular cigar from CAO is the Pilón, named after the Cuban tobacco fermentation technique involving the careful stacking of tobacco leaves.
The Pilón is made with Nicaraguan tobacco in an Ecuadorian Habano Viso wrapper. A medium-bodied cigar with notes of cedar, it makes a wonderful pairing for scotch whiskeys or aged rums.
The CAO Pilón is currently available in multiple sizes, including robustos, and can be purchased as singles or in a box of 20.
