Foundation Cigars was founded and is owned by Nicholas Melillo, a well-known cigar maker in the premium cigar industry. Melillo formerly ran production for the cigar company, Drew Estate, where he created some of their most popular blends. He brought his extensive experience from Drew Estate to create a brand that emphasises both tradition and innovation.
Foundation’s debut cigar, El Güegüense (The Wise Man), was released in 2015 and was named one of Cigar Aficionado’s ‘Top 25 Cigars’ of 2016.
Foundation Cigars operates out of Nicaragua, utilising some of the finest tobacco in the world. They now have over ten lines, with each release thoughtfully blended and hand-rolled through a process that takes years.
