Oliva Cigar Co. has been in the business of Cuban tobacco since 1886 and now makes around 16 million handmade cigars a year. It’s safe to say they know what they’re doing, and you’ll be in for a great smoking experience with one of these!

History of Oliva Cigars

Oliva Cigars can trace its history back to 1886 when Melanio Oliva began growing tobacco in Cuban fields. Several generations of Oliva men continued to grow and sell tobacco in Cuba, until the nationalisation of cigar factories after the Cuban revolution led the family to Nicaragua.

In 1995, Melania Oliva’s grandson, Gilberto Olivo and his son Gilberto Jr. founded Oliva Cigar Co. They originally made cigars within Nestor Plasencia’s factory in Nicaragua but now have their own facility for producing quality cigars made from Cuban seed tobacco.
