Plasencia is a classic family business, dating back to Don Eduardo Plasencia in Cuba’s famous Vuelta Abajo region in the 1860s. Nowadays, Plasencia operates in Nicaragua and Honduras and is one of the biggest cigar manufacturers in the world. Their factories and workers are used to produce cigars for over 30 brands, including cigars from their own tobaccos.
Plasencia cigars tend to be larger than life. While Robustos and Toros are on the bigger side with their 52 and 54-ring gauges, Plasencia’s famous Sixto cigar offers a 60-ring gauge, one of the biggest on offer in any cigar range.
Plasencia offers a diverse range of smooth yet medium-bodied smokes. They are vibrant and intense cigars with complex sweet notes that create a rich smoking experience.
Plasencia has a wonderful range of cigars for aficionados to discover. If you’re not sure where to start, their Alma Fuerte collection is hugely popular. Made from a Nicaraguan blend with a ten-year ageing process, it delivers a vibrant, medium-bodied flavour with notes of chocolate, plum and oak.
