Arturo Fuente Opus X Angel’s Share Robusto Cigar – Single

The term “Angel’s Share” originates from the world of winemaking, referring to the portion of wine that naturally evaporates from oak barrels during the ageing process. Winemakers believe this lost wine is taken by guardian angels who watch over the barrels, blessing the remaining contents. This poetic notion served as the inspiration for the Angel’s Share cigar, born from a deeply emotional chapter in the Fuente family’s history. In 2012, a devastating fire destroyed several of their ageing barns, consuming rare and irreplaceable tobacco that had been carefully stored since the 1940s and ’50s. This tobacco was being reserved for a momentous occasion—the family’s 100-year anniversary. The loss was heartbreaking, leaving the family in profound sorrow.

Yet from that tragedy emerged a new creation. The Angel’s Share cigar symbolises the belief that, while the flames may have claimed the tobacco, the angels, drawn to its rich aroma, bestowed their blessings upon the Fuente family, paving the way for future success. The Fuente Fuente Opus X Angel’s Share is crafted using a wrapper from the middle priming of the tobacco plant, unlike the traditional OpusX cigars, which use the upper priming. Carlos Fuente Jr. deliberately selected this part of the plant, believing it holds the very heart and soul of the tobacco’s flavour.
