Habanos names new commercial Vice President.

Leopoldo Cintra González has been appointed the new commercial Vice President of Habanos S.A, the cigar monopoly that Britain’s Imperial Tobacco Group PLC has a 50 percent hold in.

Cintra González also has experience in the international arena. He worked in Sweden until mid-2015 as the commercial director for Nordic, the exclusive distributor of Cuban cigars in that country.

After working for Habanos as its Control and Sales Management Director, Cintra González will now oversee international distribution and marketing for all Cuban cigars in the new role.

He fills the post that had been occupied by Jorge Luís Fernández Maique, a long standing Habanos executive and Cuban cigar industry veteran who was relieved of his duties in 2015 along with other key members of staff who were involved with the company’s internal operations.
