Davidoff cigars unveils new cigar to commemorate the Chinese Year of the Rooster

As 2016 ends and we head into 2017 the Chinese zodiac calendar will go from the Year of the Monkey to the Year of the Rooster, with Davidoff cigars celebrating this by releasing their limited-edition Chinese New Year cigar for 2017.

The iconic Swiss cigar company is releasing a unique and rare shaped ‘Diadema Figurado’ which will come in a limited supply of just 8,000 boxes.

Whilst last year’s Year of the Monkey release was a 6 1/2 by 50 straight-sided ‘Parejo’ topped with a pigtail cap, the ‘Vitola’ measures 6 3/4 inches by 50 ring gauge, which will be adorned with a red-and-gold secondary band depicting the image of a rooster. This exquisite release will be much sought after among aficionados, coming in beautiful lacquered boxes of 10, and priced at a rather expensive, yet affordable £32 per cigar.

Consisting of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and a Dominican San Vicente binder, with the filler tobaccos consisting of Cubano and San Vicente tobaccos, this looks to be a flavourful cigar that should be lit up to mark any special occasion.

It’s not only the cigars being released to celebrate the new year, as there will be also a Year of the Rooster line of accessories to match the limited-edition cigars. These will include a beautiful leather carrying case that holds a double guillotine cigar cutter, which will be available in steel or rose gold as well as being able to hold two Davidoff cigars.
